La Ca’Belli nasce nel 2000 ad Urbino, nelle Marche, da una precedente società operante nell’illuminazione dalla passione di Gianni Lisi da sempre interessato al design, all’originalità, alla ricerca del bello, che si chiede cosa potesse ideare di nuovo – nel mondo della luce – per non ripetere scelte già fatte da altri e per proporre una visione diversa ed originale di quella compagna di vita che è la luce.
Dice Gianni Lisi: “Lavorare la pietra non è mai un gesto insignificante. Per la sua antichità, per la ritualità delle procedure, conserva ancora oggi il senso di uno scontro titanico. Prima di tutto c’è il blocco. Blocco che comprende già in sé la forma che abbiamo in mente di ricavare. Blocco che – a conti fatti – è già finito di suo. La luce è un aggiunta che andrà ad illuminare la facciata di una villa, di un antico comune, di un parco pubblico dove vi sono bambini, giovani, anziani che con le loro voci fanno da contorno e danno vita a questi oggetti che – spenti – sono parte integrante del paesaggio. L’illuminazione attuale deve – più che mai – essere fusione di classico e contemporaneo. Le lampade Ca’Belli a parete, per esempio, devono inserirsi come reperti rivisitati in chiave di design, essere oggetti antichi adatti ad abbellire case contemporanee.”
Il materiale più usato è la pietra leccese che – sotto i colpi di matita dei designer – si trasforma in lampada, in seduta-scultura, splendido ibrido tra arte e natura.
L’alabastro, già utilizzato dagli etruschi, se retroilluminato contrappone la trasparenza alla matericità, quasi radiografia del corpo terrestre.
La pietra lavica dell’Etna, strappata al vulcano, ricorda – all’uomo che guarda – la fatica e il sudore dei Cavatori siciliani. Tenace, resistente, vince anche il clima estremo della Russia.
Quasi tutte le pietre utilizzate dalla Ca’Belli sono di origine italiana, di nuove se ne aggiungono di continuo, oggi si sta facendo ricerca sulla translucescenza della pietra lavorata in spessori minimi, utilizzando marmo statuario estratto dalle cave di Carrara e del Calacatta.
Con la Ca’Belli collaborano Designer e Architetti di fama mondiale come Lucidi & Pevere, i Cornalissen, Marco Romanelli, che apportano nuove continue conoscenze nel campo del design e dell’utilizzo di fonti luminose innovative.
Questa è la filosofia che dal 2000 spinge Ca’Belli ad investire in una ricerca continua di materiali, anche inusuali, da poter usare in questo gioco di abbinamenti tra materiali e luce.
